I thought I'd bring this topic onto this board where we can have a rational and logical discussion without the inclusion of the mawkish element.
So, who honestly thinks that this DVD will never see the light of day.
Me for one b/c I believe that the optimum time frame for it's release has now passed. I know that some ppl seem to think that DH will release it as a non-profit making venture and offer it to fans via the f/c (and won't that make non f/c members ecstatic ) but I happen to think that NO-ONE in any sort of business would do that, however saintly they may appear.
What's your opinion on this?
btw - at the end of the day, I'll be quite happy to be proved wrong.

Totally agree with you Terry. If its not viable it wont happen. It wont be a FC exclusive non profit give to charity video for sure. Its not going to happen. He has moved on from TCFC and is into new songs and new music now I would say. The moment has gone.
Id like to be wrong too.. but somehow I dont think it will happen

I think you've got a good point here Terry. I think the time has passed as well. I can't see it being a viable proposition because the only ones who would buy it if it got to the shops would be the fans. If it had come out nearer to the end of the tour I think it would have done very well but it does seem a long time ago now. I was trying to think how long S & C was released after the Affirmation tour but I can't remember (age, probably!) but with Darren's lack of promotion and the 6 months off I'd be surprised if the record company thought it was worth issuing. It's a real shame cos there will be a helluva lot of disappointed people if it is not released.
Let's just hope we're being pessimistic and that we'll be proved wrong before long. Hope so

I am now having serious doubts as to whether this DVD will ever be released too. The impetus for cashing in on the TCFC tour has been lost now and I was under the impression it would be released in time for last Xmas not next!! I really can't see Darren producing one without a view to it being commercially viable to do so. Even if he's not money orientated, I can't see the people in charge of his business interests being receptive to that idea! It's not the way the world works I'm afraid. I also have other views as to why I think this DVD will not see the light of day and if you want to know them then you will have to PM me cos even here I think the reasons may well be too sensitive to post about.

"mawkish" - now there's a word I've not heard before.
I haven't really thought a lot about the DVD to be honest. I would buy it if it happens, lol. I do agree that the ideal time has passed though to capture the excitement of the tour. (even though I only bought the S&C DVD last year!)
Perhaps it's like the photos my mum and mother in law took at some weddings...the pics didn't come out, or heads were cut off etc, lol!

Apparently, the DVD is due out about the same time as the new cd. Does anyone else think that timing is......... well........ odd?

...thinks the timing is odd, yup *nods*
But I still think it will see the light of day.
So shoot me, I'm an optimist.

well I guess marketing 2 items at once is easier and perhaps less expensive than separately...just my initial thought when I read Dyan's post.
